Time Blocks

Time Blocks are distinct from blocking appointments.  Consider this difference: A blocking appointment will create a “conflict” if a user attempts to schedule another appointment at the same time.  However, with time blocks, no such conflict will exist.  Time blocks are used when appointments can still be scheduled, but the scheduler should be aware of a limitation.  For example, maybe the provider only wants to see pediatric patients in the morning.  Unlike with blocking appointments, finding the next available appointment WILL schedule patients during time blocks.  Time blocks appear as a watermark reminder on the schedule.

 

To create a Time Block, use the tools pulldown menu and select “Time Blocks…”:

Then name the time block, set the scheduling parameters, and save the time block:
