Procedure descriptions are pulled from the ‘Procedure Code’ library. If the Description field is not populated, the statement will show the word ‘PROCEDURE’. To fix this, add the procedure code and description to the ‘Procedure Code’ library. See Procedure Code Library.
The adjustment description comes from the Reason Codes found in the ‘Code Library’. To change the description printed on the statement, edit the description in the ‘Code Library’. See Code Library.
When you want to display an explanation of the patient balance, Tracking adjustments allow you to show messages on statement service lines. Tracking adjustments appear with the date and description. This option must be turned on before tracking adjustment messages will appear. See Tracking Adjustments for instructions on turning on the option.
If the diagnosis code is not showing, there are two possible reasons. Either the ‘Hide Diagnostic Codes’ box is checked on your ‘Options’ window –or the diagnosis pointer on the service line points to a code that does not exist and/or no diagnosis pointer is entered (Box 24E on the 1500 form).
